January 2L Spotlight – Ariel Romero

Congratulations to our Chapman Law Review 2L of the month, Ariel Romero!

Ariel Romero graduated from Loyola Marymount University with honors receiving a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, specializing in Management and an emphasis in Business Law. As an undergraduate student, she clerked for the District Attorney’s office at Airport Courthouse in Los Angeles, CA.

She recently completed her first semester of 2L year at Chapman and began working at Manly, Stewart, & Finaldi, a plaintiff’s firm that primarily represents childhood sexual assault victims. Her time in law school has expanded her interest in advocating for victims and shaped her Law Review directed research topic to the issue of victim’s rights, with a focus on victims of mass violence. One day she wants to write federal legislation regarding this issue.

As a mental release from law school, Ariel enjoys running and has participated in the LA Marathon for the past two years. This year she’s also running the OC Half Marathon as part of a fundraising effort for CASA of Orange County – a non-profit organization that serves foster children by representing their interests in the court system. She’s run 7 full and half-marathons and hopes to complete her goal of running 10 marathons by 2021, with her 10th being the Honolulu Marathon on Oahu.
